Rebeka MK is a Dutch-Hungarian mixed-media illustrator and surface pattern designer based in the Netherlands.
After 12 years as a fashion and print designer, creating seamless prints, artworks and custom trimmings, she now brings that same pattern expertise to the world of Home & Lifestyle: starting with wall-art and stationery products. Her work is soft maximalism x joycore: colourful, layered and full of emotion made for people, who decorate with personality; and treat their home as an extension of who they are.
Her visual language moves between bold, expressive contrasted sketches made freely in the moment and richly layered compositions rooted in botanical surrealism, food and everyday nostalgia.
She works intuitively between analogue and digital mediums and embraces imperfection as a trace of movement and a playful sense of whimsy. She's most drawn to ink, markers and watercolor, and gets happily lost in Procreate, Illustrator and Photoshop, choosing her tools by the story each piece wants to tell.
Her newest series (coming soon), Art Class Odyssey, is a nostalgic return the core memories: small-format originals made during daycare hours, shared as process videos and later turned into digital artwork.
